Featured Service - Monro Avenue

Monro Avenue is a residential care service supporting 7 people with a range of learning disabilities who may also have complex epilepsy, sensory impairment and autism, within a homely & person centred residential environment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The service is situated in Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, and is close to local shops and within easy reach of the city centre with its many shops, restaurants, cinema and recreational facilities.    Also within easy reach of the home are many parks and lakes.
At Monro Avenue there are four bedrooms on the first floor and three bedrooms on the ground floor. The ground floor is wheelchair friendly and has easy access to the garden. There is no lift in the property. Both ground floor and first floor have a toilet with shower and a bathroom with adapted bath and toilet. There is a communal lounge, dining room, kitchen and utility room on the ground floor. The service has an extensive garden.

People living at Monro Avenue are supported to undertake leisure activities and access to the community. Everyone has the opportunity to attend day services which offers a variety of activities.

The staff team at the service comprises of a Head of Service who is responsible for a team of staff including a Senior Support Worker and Support Workers, who are qualified and highly competent care and work together in a proactive, positive and person centred manner to support, guide and encourage every person to take increasing control of their own lives by identifying their future potential and to work successfully toward achieving their individual aims and goals, but more importantly, to live a life that makes sense to them. There are 3 staff on duty each day shift, and also a waking night staff and a sleep in staff during the night.
