Oxford Lifelong Learning Service
MacIntyre has been providing a successful lifelong learning service from a central location in Oxford for over 10 years.
Building on our commitment to encourage people with a learning disability to take increasing control over their own lives, the Oxford Learning Centre was opened up to anyone choosing to purchase their own services. This includes people who receive a direct payment, have an individual budget or are private self-funders.
The people who choose to attend have a pivotal role in planning events and activities, and the service offers people the opportunity to develop their skills in a safe, supportive environment where they can make new friends or keep in touch with old ones.
In the heart of Oxford, there is excellent public transport access and the service is able to support people to gain independent travel skills to and from the Centre. MacIntyre is also able to provide a Lifelong Learning service to people who do not choose to come into the Centre but would rather receive their support in the community to undertake activities of their choice.
MacIntyre is included in Oxfordshire County Council's Framework Agreement (2009-2013) as a provider of Day Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities.
