MacIntyre My Way is an innovative service that supports people facing transition in their life. MacIntyre My Way focuses on self-directed support.
Self-directed support is the general term used to describe people having greater control over the support they receive. It enables people who need support to design and be in control of their support arrangements.

MacIntyre My Way works with people with learning disabilities and their families to offer support at times of change. This could be when leaving school or college, leaving the family home or moving to independent living.
Some people have chosen to use a personal budget to pay for their support. MacIntyre My Way has supported these people to organise this.
MacIntyre My Way can offer to
• Work with Local Authorities to establish an personal budget (a sum of money) that a person can use to spend on the
support they need
• Design a plan with the person, their family and friends that describes the support they need to live the life they choose
• Plan how to manage the individual budget and work with the person, using their plan, to arrange the support they need
