MacFest 09 - Return of the Mac

Date: 09 Jun 2009

What a day!  Early rain did not stop the crowd at MacFest from having a great time from the first act at noon through to Nigel Hammond’s fantastic ‘High 5’ ending things at nearly 9.30pm.

Lots of  friends and families turned out and joined the staff and students as they danced, listened, laughed, ate and drank!  Special guest Paul Foot officially cut the ribbon just after a performance from blues band DC5 and before The Bearded Ladies ‘performed’.  One of everyones favourite acts, the belly dancers, did the school proud again as did Groove 8, Big Band Swing and Who got the Dog?

Matthew Pepper, a student in Year 13 at Wingrave also performed a solo version of ‘Any Dream Will Do'.  He had been practicing with the schools specialist music teacher Kevin, and performed brilliantly, a real highlight of the day.

The schools good friend ‘Steve the Clown’ performed throughout the day and brought along his friend ‘Musical Ruth’ later in the day.  Their acts need to be experienced – come along next year and you’ll see!
