MacIntyre Great Interactions showcased at national conference

Date: 28 Sep 2009

Bill Mumford, MacIntyre’s Managing Director, was an invited speaker at the recent Local Government Chronicle conference 'Developing your Adult Social Care Workforce', which debated some of the implications of the personalisation agenda, viewed by many as the biggest change to face the sector for years.

As well as chairing a plenary discussion about the practical workforce development strategies alongside Julie Jones, Chief Executive of Social Care Institute of Excellence, Bill concluded the conference with a presentation on MacIntyre's ‘Great Interactions’ work under the title of “It ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it!”

Great Interactions focuses on the facilitative skills of the 'natural' support worker; how we identify them and, more importantly, how we utilise their ability in the workplace to support personalisation and make real and consistent differences to those we support. It was recently showcased as an example of good practice in the Department of Health’s publication; Working to Put People First: The Strategy for the Adult Social Care Workforce in England’.
