MacIntyre to become a work of art!
Date: 08 Jul 2009
Trafalgar Square in London is currently home to one of the worlds longest and most publicly interactive art installations.
Every hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days without a break, different people will make the squares fourth Plinth their own in a new exhibition being held in the capital.
This Sunday at 6am MacIntyre Head of Service Will Parker will be taking to the plinth and will be representing MacIntyre with pride.
"I've worked with adults with a learning disability for over 20 years and I can honestly say that every day is different and a joy.
I'd like to spend my 'plinth hour' sharing some of the 'great interactions' work I'm currently helping to promote.
I never thought I'd get this chance but I'm sure I'll have fun and look forward to meeting some of you there."
Antony Gormley, who has produced such renowned works as the Angel of the North and Another Place, has created the 'One & Other' exhibition in order to help create an astonishing living monument. Commissioned by the Mayor of London with funding from the Arts Councilm and produced in partnership with Sky Arts, Gormley is asking the people of the UK to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, a space normally reserved for statues of Kings and Generals, in an image of themselves, and a representation of the whole of humanity.
