“There ain’t no party like a Reps on Board party!”
The MacIntyre Reps on Board support people with a learning disability across Derbyshire to do their job as Partnership Board Reps, ensuring they have the skills needed to carry out their tasks and responsibilities.
What started as a small project ten years ago with just a handful of Reps and no name for the group has now grown into a successful group of nearly 20 Reps across Derbyshire.
We love a party at MacIntyre, so the Reps on Board 10th birthday seemed the perfect opportunity to get together and celebrate the incredible successes and accomplishments of the project.
Alison Wright, who has been leading the Reps on Board project from the beginning, said:
“In ten years, this group has really found a voice and it is so wonderful to see the amazing impact they make on the community and the sector as a whole. They are so strong and I’m looking forward to the next ten years!”
Throughout the party, the Reps and guests left messages about what’s important to them. One Rep, Kerry Ann, wrote:
“I like being a Rep, I have lots of help and support and I work hard.”
Kev D., a High Peak Rep, wrote:
“I like being a Rep and meeting great different people. I also like being the Chairman and I get kind comments and the end of the meeting I Chair.”
