Have you ever been to one of our Memory Cafés? They are held in Milton Keynes and Warrington once a month and are great opportunities to connect with old friends, meet new people, try different activities and have a good old cuppa and slice of cake. Both Cafés were established so that anyone, whether they are living with dementia or not, can come along to a friendly and inviting setting, feel safe and have a good experience.
Earlier in the year the both the Milton Keynes and Warrington Memory Cafés hosted animal therapy sessions, which proved to be a brilliant way for people to interact with their favourite animals and some animals they’d never seen before. Not only is animal therapy relaxing, but simply stroking an animal can improve wellbeing, self esteem and encourage social engagement.
As so many people enjoyed the session last time, the Milton Keynes Memory Café on Tuesday, 26 September will bring the animals back again, thanks to Animal Edutainment UK.
Whether you’ve never held a live animal or just haven’t in a long time, don’t miss the opportunity to take part in this special session. The Memory Café is open to everyone; people living with dementia, those caring for someone that is, friends, families, and those that are just curious to find out more.
Everyone is welcome, no booking required. If you have any questions, contact Nicola Payne by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 07823 530100.
