Animal therapy at the Milton Keynes Memory Café

The MacIntyre Community Memory Café is a fun, welcoming and relaxing environment for people to take part in social activities, make new friends and enjoy fantastic cake and cups of tea and coffee. The Café was established so that anyone, whether they are living with dementia or not, can come along to a friendly and inviting setting, feel safe and have a good experience.

This month, the Memory Café in Milton Keynes will host an animal therapy session, with lots of different live animals for people to enjoy. Animal therapy is a brilliant way for people to interact with animals; not only is it relaxing but simply stroking an animal can improve wellbeing, self esteem and encourage social engagement.

Whether you’ve never held a live animal or just haven’t in a long time, don’t miss the opportunity to take part in this special session. The Memory Café is open to everyone; people living with dementia, those caring for someone that is, friends, families, and those that are just curious to find out more.

We hope to see lots of you there!

Everyone is welcome, no booking required. If you have any questions, contact Nicola Payne by emailing or calling 07823 530100.
