We are looking to raise a total of £45,000 to completely revolutionise the two houses into modern, comfortable, accessible and therapeutic spaces for people with complex and often multiple needs to live in.

The team have developed a plan of what they need to make this happen:

  • £10,000 on technology and indoor furniture so that we can replace sofas, chairs and dining area furniture that have all seen better days with comfortable, useable and accessible furniture that meets the needs of the people who will use it alongside the much requested streaming site Disney+

  • £11,000 to repurpose the two large communal gardens into spaces people want to use. We would like to secure the gardens and improve privacy, purchase garden furniture, benches, new sheds, garden tools, a summer house and awnings to provide shade.

  • £24,000 on sensory equipment to change to look and feel of the homes into therapeutic and calming spaces. We would like to purchase lighting, tactile and engaging resources such as a magic carpet to revolutionise the environment people we support live in.

MacIntyre receive funding to provide for core areas of care for people with learning disabilities. However, it is the 'extras' made possible by fundraising that can lead to new a better quality of life for the people we support in Buckinghamshire.

Alaina Cornish, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at MacIntyre said:

“We are hoping to inspire the Buckinghamshire community to come together and raise £45,000. Individuals, business, community groups can all get involved by perhaps selling cakes, taking on a sponsored run, hosting a party or even a head shave. Every penny raised will make a huge difference!”

All donations received will be split equally across the two properties. However, if you would like your donation to be allocated against a specific item or home please donate and then contact us at [javascript protected email address] with details of your donation so that we can ring-fence your gift.
