The team have set an ambitious fundraising target of £50,000 to improve the environments, and have developed a plan of what they need to make this happen:
Live Learn Thrive - London Campaign
MacIntyre is a national charity supporting children, young people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism. MacIntyre's vision is for all people with a learning disability to live a life that make sense to them.
MacIntyre has launched the Live, Learn, Thrive - London Campaign for our flats in south-west London. In London we support 24 adults in eight flats on two different sites. The flats would all benefit from significant refurbishment. We aim to make both gardens great spaces to enjoy; to replace old and worn furniture and to provide sensory equipment that will enhance the well-being of the people who live there.
- Live - everyone has the right to an equal life. We want the people who draw on our support in London to have a home and garden which is comfortable, accessible and meets their physical and emotional needs.
- Learn - shared, accessible communal spaces will support socialising and participation and offer opportunities to enjoy hobbies and activities.
- Thrive - create better spaces people we support can access, enjoy, connect and learn.

- £12,000 to repurpose the two large gardens into spaces people want to use. We would like to purchase garden furniture, benches, sheds, tools, a summer house and awnings to provide shade in summer.
- £16,000 for indoor furniture, replacing sofas, chairs and dining furniture that have seen better days with comfortable and accessible furniture that meets the needs of the people who will use it.
- £22,000 for sensory equipment to change to look and feel of the homes into therapeutic and calming spaces. We would like to purchase lighting, tactile and engaging resources such as a magic carpet to enhance the environment for people living there.
MacIntyre receive funding for core costs, however, it is the 'extras' made possible by fundraising that can enhance the quality of life for the young people and adults MacIntyre supports in London.
All donations received will be split equally across the two properties. However, if you would like your donation to be allocated against a specific item or home please donate and then contact us at [javascript protected email address] with details of your donation so that we can ring-fence your gift.

MacIntyre is a registered charity no. 250840. We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
