MacIntyre celebrates Level 3 Achievement in Education and Training
September's 2021 class have completed their qualification.
Over 217 days, five young people and five staff from Woodpecker Class at MacIntyre School and Children’s Homes will be doing a variety of activities covering 3,364 miles to raise money for the student’s 2022 prom.
The challenge began on 25 November 2021 and will come to an end on 30 June 2022, involving activities such as walking, skipping, running, cycling, swimming, climbing stairs. The students and staff will be covering the same distance as traveling from Aylesbury in the United Kingdom to Long Island, New York, in the United States.
Why Long Island, New York? It’s the home of Quogue Wildlife Refuge, a wildlife conservation complex that is home to six different species of Woodpecker.
Eight students are set to graduate from MacIntyre School in July and the team would love for them to make memories that will last a lifetime, celebrate their achievements and have fun with their friends at their prom before embarking on a new adventure.
