As we come to the end of our Jubilee year, we are committed to continuing to accelerate our growth and look forward to the next 50 years of MacIntyre. As part of this, we welcome Sumerjit (known as Sam) Ram as our new Children and Young People (CYP) Director. We spoke to Sam about her role, her past experience and her plans for the future.
Q: So Sam, can you tell us a bit about your role?
A: So my role is Children and Young People Services Director. Very broadly it covers the MacIntyre Schools, The Alexandra Centre in Camden, MacIntyre School Wingrave, Hillside Children’s Home, the No Limits Project and working in partnership with other MacIntyre services that work with children and young people such as MacIntyre Academies.
Q: What have your previous roles included?
A: I’ve previously worked for the NSPCC, Action for Children, Education, and more recently for a Children’s Charity delivering a broad range of services to schools, the wider community, and to children and their families.
Q: What attracted you to working for MacIntyre?
A: I’m really looking forward to working with some great people, forming new collaborations and ensuring that the CYP team make a real difference to children and young people’s lives. I’m also looking forward to diversifying and growing the services innovatively, so that we can respond to the widest possible need, impact positively on as many children and young people as possible, as well as ensuring the future sustainability of our current services.
Q: And lastly, what are you looking forward to most about working for MacIntyre?
A: MacIntyre’s values are definitely what attracted me to the organisation. I love the concept of MacIntyre’s DNA and how each of the specialisms and unique ways of working all link together.
