MacIntyre Directors and Heads of Operations ended 2016 by attending a Health and Safety course, presented by our Insurance Brokers, Marsh, and generously funded by our Insurers, QBE. Catherine Gill, a highly experienced former HSE inspector, delivered the training and succeeded in giving the Directors and Heads of Operations a good understanding of the latest changes to the law and the impact it has on their responsibilities and accountability to lead the way on Health and Safety. The group all contributed to the course with constructive questions and debate.
Nigel Hammond, MacIntyre’s Health and Safety Manager, commented:
“The one day course was quite symbolic because it leads the way to the whole of MacIntyre’s Health and Safety Strategy. Having both awareness and understanding of Healthy and Safety laws, and how this is delivered in practice, is imperative, and is something that we take care to instil throughout the whole organisation. Catherine Gill was excellent in leading the group through the course with practical examples. She tailored the course very well to current issues and to the world of social care and MacIntyre.”
QBE is also funding an IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Managing Safety Training course, a four-day course for MacIntyre’s Area Managers. The course is currently being delivered to various groups.
