MacIntyre is proud to be shortlisted in the category of Best Dementia Training Initiative for the 2015 National Dementia Care Awards
The nomination was made to recognise the work of our Dementia Special Interest Group (DSIG) which was formed to share best practice, provide peer support and find out what is happening across the country. The Group now takes the lead for all training & resources created. We found that, when they are confronted with the possibility that a person they support may have dementia, normally skilled staff lost confidence, had self-doubt and felt isolation. The DSIG tries to make sure no one feels alone when faced with these new challenges.
Judging will take place on 19 October, winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner on 13 November.
