Marc talks about raising awareness of living with a disability in Gambia

In the last Let Your Voice Shine video blog, Marc talked about how he works with a charity called Live, based in Chester, to raise awareness of disability.

This time, Marc shares his experiences of raising awareness further afield in Gambia, where he flew out to for a week in February, and talks about how surprised people were at what a person with a disability can do.

  • Mark, I can’t tell you how proud you make me feel!! You know that The Gambia is close to my heart and the difference you have made to people’s attitude is wonderful. I have a young friend with a learning disability and epilepsy who is very lowly regarded in her local community. You will eventually have such a positive impact in her life. Please continue in your work with Live to enhance the lives of people with a disability in The Gambia.

Hi Mark- I loved watching this film and listening to you talk so passionately about your work and what you are trying to achieve – truly inspirational. Keep up the fantastic work!

I think it is fantastic that you are talking to young people about what a person can achieve that has a disability. And the fact you went all the way to Gambia is super great. Well done and keep up the good work Marc and keep sharing what you do!!!
