Marley Grove in Milton Keynes and Hampshire & Kent Supported Living are the latest services in MacIntyre to be awarded ‘Good’ ratings by CQC in recent inspections.
Marley Grove is a group of four homes that provide accommodation and personal care to nine people with a learning disability. At the last inspection carried out in April 2017, CQC rated the service ‘Good’.
The report said:
“staff provided care and support in a caring and meaningful way. They knew the people who used the service well. People and relatives, where appropriate, were involved in the planning of their care and support. People were supported to follow their interests and join in activities of their choice.”
When reporting on our staff, it detailed
“there were sufficient staff, with the correct skill mix, on duty to support people with their needs. Staff received a comprehensive induction and on-going training. They had attended a variety of training to ensure they were able to provide care based on current best practice when supporting people.”
Hampshire & Kent Supported Living was inspected in May 2017 and awarded a ‘Good’ rating by CQC earlier this month. This service provides support to 25 people all living in their own homes with various levels of support required.
The report said
“people told us they felt safe and there were processes in place to protect them from harm. People were provided with opportunities to give feedback about the care and support they received. Care records were person centred and helped staff provide care which was in keeping with people’s needs and wishes.”
In regards to our staff, the report said
“people told us that the staff supporting them were kind and caring and helped them to live a busy and active life. Staff had a good knowledge and understanding of the people they were supporting. Staff were able to tell us about people’s likes and dislikes which demonstrated they knew them well.”
