Ten legs, 156 miles and a dinosaur

Another London Marathon has passed and it is once again time to say a huge well done and thank you to our fantastic runners.

Combined, our runners kept going for over 150 miles and have so far raised thousands of pounds for MacIntyre, all of which will go to each runner’s chosen service or project.

If you watched the highlights coverage on BBC2, you may have spotted one of our runners, Gemma (inset photo, (c) BBC ), who took on the challenge of running the entire marathon in a dinosaur costume (watch it on highlights at 51:48) which is truly an amazing achievement.

We’d like to thank you all for your incredible commitment and dedication, and of course for choosing MacIntyre as your reason to run. Thank you also to each and every one of you that sponsored our runners and have helped to raise their fundraising totals even higher; we really value your support.

Have any of our runners inspired you? Do you fancy taking on the challenge of the London Marathon in 2018? Make 2018 the year to fulfil your dream and sign up to raise money for MacIntyre. We actively encourage you to enter into the general ballot first, and if successful we would love you to fundraise for us. The general ballot opens on 1 May 2017 so make sure you apply to increase your chances of running. We also have a limited number of charity places which will be allocated in October 2017. We’ll be posting lots of photos of our runners in the coming weeks on Instagram @meetmacintyre – follow us to keep up with the story.
