The 5 Ways to Wellbeing consider how to improve people’s mental wellbeing through life. It encourages you to connect with the people around you, be active, take notice of your surroundings, keeping learning and give back.
At MacIntyre, we look at the Wellbeing Wheel as a way to help our staff and the people we support to lead fulfilling lives. There are lots of ways that the 5 Ways to Wellbeing can be put into practice and last week the people we support at the Milton Keynes Lifelong Centre created fun ways to engage in some of the areas.
Be active: The group tried out chair yoga as a relaxing way to stretch and use different movements of the body. They also took a trip to the local park to use the equipment there as a fun way to keep active.
Keep learning: A visit to the library gave the group an opportunity to keep learning and find some topics that interested them.
Connect: Whilst at the library, they handed in the display they had made for the library window, which allowed them to connect with the local community.
