The annual Bedfordshire Games took place at the start of July, and all the MacIntyre services in Bedfordshire came together to take part. The Games aim to provide teenagers and adults with learning disabilities and complex needs the opportunity to take part in an annual sporting event.
The Games took place at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium. It’s a wonderful event that is a celebration of talent, giving equal access to physical activities to people with learning disabilities.
MacIntyre had a very successful day! A number of medals were won in activities such as the wheelchair races, shot-put, 100m, 50m and 25m dashes and the walks. The people we support and the staff were also awarded the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to the organisation which had shown the best support to everyone who was participating.
We’re looking forward to next year already! For more information, please contact Robin Barnes – firstname.lastname@example.org
