Many of you may by now have heard about or participated in the Big Hike, which is now taking place for the fifth year. For those less familiar with it, the
MacIntyre Big Hike is a complete outdoor experience. For anything up to six days, you can hike and camp in a beautiful part of the country, sharing and taking part in this fantastic event with others.
Following on from the 2016 Big Hike, this year’s event will be held in The Peak District in Derbyshire, from Sunday 11 June to Saturday 17 June 2017.
This year, one of our Frontline Managers from Bedfordshire, Dan Simmonds, is joining the award-winning Big Hike team to take on a challenge of his own.
Dan will not only be completing the whole challenge, but he will be running the route instead of hiking, aiming to run 10 miles a day, for 5 days, over a mountainous region of the country.
Dan is hoping to raise £1,500 from his challenge, which will be split equally with 50% going to MacIntyre’s Adult Services in Bedfordshire and 50% going to wider projects in MacIntyre.
