The Huffington Post: Dementia Support for a Hidden Population

In a recent blog on the Huffington Post, ‘Dementia Support for a Hidden Population’, Rhidian Hughes, Chief executive of VODG (Voluntary Organisations Disability Group) discussed the need for people with learning disabilities and dementia to be supported in the ways in which they decide; a message which strongly resonates throughout MacIntyre’s DNA.

Within the blog, Rhidian discusses MacIntyre’s Dementia Special Interest Group, which was launched in February 2011, as an important way to bring together staff from across the organisation supporting those who have developed or are at risk of developing dementia.

Additionally, attention was given to our Keep Going…….Don’t Stop group, a self-advocate group which is shaping resources for the sector on significant issues relating to learning disability and dementia.
