January is just around the corner, and what better way to make up for all of the indulgence over the festive period than to take part in Dry January. In doing so, you will not only help to increase awareness and raise money for Alcohol Concern, but also for the first time, you can help us too.
What is Dry January?
Dry January is a national campaign run by Alcohol Concern, a UK registered charity. Dry January encourages the nation to make January an alcohol-free month. Individuals are supported throughout January with encouraging emails and an app to help track and monitor the impact being dry is having on their mind, body and wallet.
This year, Alcohol Concern has teamed up with Virgin Money Giving and a whole host of charities, MacIntyre included, to spread the word about being happy and healthy and to make a difference to the lives of those harmed through alcohol misuse by raising money for this brilliant cause. The money you raise will be halved between Alcohol Concern and MacIntyre if you choose to support us in this amazing campaign.
Why not make this a competition with your colleagues or friends? Through Virgin Money Giving, you can either set up a single company page or a campaign page linking each individual to the main page; this way, you can create more competition by seeing who has raised the most money.
What do you think, can you stay dry for 31 days?
Alcohol Concern has put together this Workplace Pack with lots of tips and tools to help you stay focussed and raise money.
Most importantly, remember to have fun! If you have any questions or would like some help setting up a Virgin Money page, please contact our Events & Corporate Fundraiser, Jessie Harrison, by calling 01908 230100 or emailing email@example.com.
