Last Friday we were delighted to witness both of our MacIntyre finalists in the North West Great British Care Awards be announced as winners!
Tina Dutton, Shared Lives Carer, was announced as the winner of the Dementia Carer Award. The judges said:
“Tina is an inspirational and passionate person who has gone more than the extra mile to deliver high quality person centred care. Tina’s courage, commitment and selfless acts of kindness continues to make a difference to place people at the centre of all she says and does. Tina is the difference.”
Will Black, one of our Frontline Managers, was announced as the winner of the Frontline Leaders Award. The judges said:
“Will has lead his team to great success over the past year through support and innovative care. Will is always looking at the individual’s needs, be it the service user or carer.”
Both Will and Tina were delighted to be crowned as winners. We asked Will what he thought:
“It was such a fantastic night, thank you to Laura and Kathryn for cheering us on and a huge congratulations to Tina for her win too! I owe a huge thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this award and the success we have had in the services. I am so happy I won, now it’s off to the National Finals in March!”
Will and Tina will now go on to the National Awards at Birmingham’s ICC in Spring 2018. We look forward to hearing the outcome of the South East, East Midlands and West Midlands Great British Care Awards throughout the month.
