5 ways to take part in Time for Tea

31 May 2019
News

From 17 to 21 June, we are hosting Time for Tea Week and you are invited. Time for Tea is a chance for you to host your own event with friends, family, your local community or colleagues.

It’s a brilliant excuse to eat cake and drink tea, and what’s more, it’s a fantastic way to raise money for children and adults with a learning disability and/or autism.

If you want to take part, but aren’t too sure where to start, we've got a few ideas to inspire you.

1. Host a tea party with a twist

Thinking of hosting a tea party for your friends and family? Why not pick a theme? Whether you set off into space, find yourself down a rabbit hole or take a trip to Buckingham Palace, your tea party will be one to remember.

2. Hold a bake-off

Whether you consider yourself the next Mary Berry or prefer to buy your bakes; a school or office bake-off is a chance to have fun in the kitchen, whilst raising money for the people we support. Not only this, but you could auction the treats too.

3. Hold a coffee morning

Looking for something a little more relaxed? A coffee morning might be the way to go! Whether you bake it or fake it, it's the perfect way to catch up with friends and show your support for MacIntyre.

4. Raffle baked goods

Thinking of hosting a larger event in your community? You could hold an afternoon tea themed raffle! Prizes could include homemade cakes, afternoon tea vouchers or baking books.

5. Arts and crafts

If you prefer arts and crafts to baking, why host a tea party where friends and family can get creative by decorating tea cups. It’s a fabulous activity to do with children too.
