Meet The Friendship Group

23 October 2019
News

People we support within our Friendship Group, supported by our Great Communities Project in Warrington have been sharing why they love attending the group and how it has benefited them.

In 2017, we launched our innovative Great Communities Project in partnership with Community Catalysts in Warrington. The project aims to make people think differently about care and community and discover the skills, gifts, and knowledge of people with learning disabilities in Warrington.

The Friendship Group was set up to encourage people with a learning disability and/or autism in Warrington to reach out and make new friends. Since then, the group have continued to meet and have even built friendships together outside of their meetings too.

Sharing what they love about the group, a few members of the group said:

"Making new friends"

"I love going out with my friends from the friendship group to the cinema or town."

"Connecting with new people and making long-lasting friendships."

‘It's where I make new friends and socialise."
