Seeing my hero: Phillip's Story

29 August 2019
News

For Phillip, there's nothing quite like the sound of a Formula 1 Motorcar racing around a track. Especially if this car belongs to Lewis Hamilton. Supported by staff member David and his mum, Phillip headed to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Sharing his experience, Phillip said:

" I woke up very excited as I was spending the day at Goodwood for the Festival of Speed. My keyworker David was coming along as well as my mum. I was wearing my favourite Lewis Hamilton t-shirt and my Mercedes Baseball cap and took my camera as photography is my favourite hobby.”

“When we arrived we walked around looking at all the amazing sports cars, some vintage, some very shiny and brand new. We saw lots of Ferraris and Mercedes, but my favourite was a McLaren Sports Car. After lunch we watched an amazing flypast and display by the Red Arrows, it was very loud and a real spectacle!"

"I visited some of the trade stalls and bought a new Mercedes Baseball Cap and a T-shirt with motoring logos on the front and back. The highlight of the day for me was seeing my Hero Lewis Hamilton up on the balcony waving at the crowds."
