Earlier this year we were thrilled when the Rotary Club of Wolverton & Stony Stratford chose to support MacIntyre as their Charity of the Year.
The Club have set a target of £14,000 to fund a new kitchen at MacIntyre’s Stony Stratford Coffee Shop near Milton Keynes.
To achieve, this they are organising a series of events across the year. We are happy to report that the first two have already been incredibly successful
The first was a “Loop the Loop” Challenge at the London Gliding Club in Dunstable. Guided by a qualified pilot, the challenge was to participate in least two full loops in the gliders. A total of six people took to the skies, one of whom was MacIntyre’s Senior Compliance Officer Donna White.
Speaking after she landed, Donna was buzzing:
“I did 3 loop the loops and one really steep bank. And I got to fly it, I was controlling the glider!!!! It was a truly amazing experience. I loved every minute and want to do it again!!!"
Donna and the other participants raised over £2,400.
The second event was the Club’s 11th Annual Golf Day on Wednesday 6 June in near perfect conditions. The day’s golf was rounded off with a dinner, raffle and auction, followed by prize-giving. Many congratulations to the winning team, ‘Alfie’s Old Boys’.
