What does the Autism Network mean to me?

3 April 2024
Blog post

by Jess Sutton, Autistic Advocate and Easy Read Creator

Hi, my name is Jess Sutton and I chair the Autism Network!

The Autism Network is a group held online on the first Thursday of each month. It is a safe space where autistic people and anyone interested in learning about autism can come together to discuss and learn about a wide variety of topics related to autism.

The Autism Network is very important to me. Platforming autistic people and giving them a space to express themselves and their thoughts in their own words is something I am very passionate about. The best way for neurotypical people to learn about the autistic experience is to listen to those who experience autism every day.

Autistic people deserve to be heard and to lead the conversation about autism themselves. I am very proud to be playing a part in the empowerment of autistic people and I want to encourage everyone to learn and to get involved!
