On Sunday, October 7 Donald Delmohamed is independently taking on MacIntyre’s one-mile memory walk ‘Memories and Miles’ in his wheelchair. The event marks the end of MacIntyre’s award-winning Dementia Project and will raise money for MacIntyre’s Memory Cafés across the country.
Donald, who is supported by MacIntyre, has already surpassed his initial fundraising target of £100. Currently, he has raised a fantastic £160.
Speaking about the challenge, Donald said:
“This is the first time I've done anything like this before. I am training by going swimming and in order to take part, I have to take injections to help with the pain in my spine. I find it difficult to walk long distances. The money raised will go to support MacIntyre’s Milton Keynes Memory Café, in Great Holm.”
He added:
“What makes this even more difficult is that I am doing it by myself, no one is pushing me, I will be using my hands to push my wheelchair.”
Please support Donald by donating via his Virgin Money Giving page.
All of the money raised from MacIntyre’s Memories and Miles will support people living with dementia and their loved ones via MacIntyre’s Memory Cafés.
