Facilities
MacIntyre School is a specialist school based in a small village called Wingrave, near Aylesbury. We have been providing education for children and young people with autism and severe learning disabilities in this village since the 1970s.The current School and residential houses were built within MacIntyre’s existing grounds in 2006.
Our extensive facilities include:
- Gym
- Sports hall
- Climbing wall
- Sensory garden with an outdoor classroom
- A newly equipped Therapy Room
- Trim trail
- Sensory room
- Internal and external trampolines
- Community Café run by older students and open once a month
- Youth Club every Tuesday evening
Each residential house has a small garden, many have trampolines. There are bikes, go-karts and other outdoor equipment.
The school make use of the many locally available facilities to enhance learning and provide and exciting range of leisure opportunities:
- Village shop
- Zoo and wildlife parks
- Theme parks
- Theatres and cinemas
- Dry ski slopes
- Horse-riding
- Local towns for shopping outings
- The beautiful countryside of the Chilterns
