Making Memories in Milton Keynes

17 October 2018
News

On Sunday 7 October the second of our Memories and Miles events was held at Loughton Lake. Covering one mile, over 100 people, alongside several volunteers came together to celebrate loved ones with dementia.

Among the attendees was Donald Delmohamed, who is supported by MacIntyre, setting himself the challenge of independently completing the one-mile course in his wheelchair to raise money for the MacIntyre Milton Keynes Memory Café. With an original target of £100, Donald quickly surpassed his goal as donations flooded in. To date, Donald has raised over £300.

Speaking about the challenge, Donald said:

“It was the first time I've done anything like this before and all the training paid off. Even though I’m in pain most of the time, it helps a fab cause that I believe in. All of the money raised goes to support MacIntyre’s Milton Keynes Memory Café in Great Holm. The real hard work is done by the staff that run the Memory Café at Great Holm.”
