Dave joined MacIntyre in 2021 at the age of 55, having never previously worked in social care. He has surprised even himself at just how well he has taken to the role!
Dave worked really hard to learn all that MacIntyre can teach him, achieving his Care Certificate and really embracing MacIntyre’s DNA and way of working.
On behalf of MacIntyre Dave forged some new connections with Leicester City Football Club, starting inclusive football sessions, and with The Centre Project, a charity reaching those who are most excluded from society to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing. Dave is currently supporting someone to visit their family in Ireland for the first time, supporting him to apply for his first passport.
Dave’s transferrable skills means he can turn his hand to many DIY tasks and is always the first to volunteer to take the car for repairs.
When Dave’s old employer wanted him back, he turned them down as he has found where he wants to be – and we are really happy he’s part of the MacIntyre family.
