Quiet impact, big difference

10 June 2026
News

Every day across MacIntyre, colleagues are quietly going above and beyond, all with the purpose of supporting people to live the lives they choose. Our Employees of the Month are a snapshot of that wider story: different roles, different settings, but the same commitment to making a real difference. This month, we’re proud to recognise these four colleagues:

Angela Gailans – Anvil Close, London (Adult Social Care)

Angela, Senior Support Worker at Anvil Close, was nominated for her outstanding leadership and composure during a period of managerial absence. With the Frontline Manager away, she stepped into additional responsibilities without hesitation, ensuring continuity of care and stability for both colleagues and the people supported. She maintained routines, activities and person-centred support to a high standard, while taking on significant management duties beyond her role. During this time, Angela supported the service through a number of complex situations. Throughout, she remained calm, professional and solutions-focused, communicating clearly and seeking guidance appropriately when needed. She also chaired a PAMMS inspection meeting and has continued working closely with the Contracts Monitoring Officer to ensure actions are progressed. Her approach has been consistently selfless, steady and grounded in what is best for Anvil Close and the people who live and work there.

Becky Legh – MacIntyre School and Children's Homes(CYP)

Becky is nominated for her reliability, thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile in supporting colleagues. Recently, she produced detailed meeting notes late into the evening, sending them at 11:30pm so they would be ready in time for a colleague’s upcoming annual leave. This ensured the work could be completed without pressure at a busy time. On another occasion, she volunteered to come into work early following a system reset to support the reconfiguration, helping ensure night staff could be added without delay. These actions reflect someone who is not only dependable, but also considerate of others’ circumstances and willing to step in when needed to keep things running smoothly.

Maisie Dyer – No Limits Buckinghamshire (No Limits)

Maisie, My Way Transitions Coordinator, is recognised for her exceptional commitment across two sites and her role in managing a complex and evolving referral process with the local authority. She has worked intensively with a wide range of stakeholders, including young people, families, schools and professionals, to complete pre-entry assessments and maintain a consistent and responsive workflow. At times managing a high and continuous volume of referrals, she has kept processes organised and moving forward while maintaining a strong focus on the needs of each young person. She is highly regarded for her collaborative approach, working effectively with colleagues across multiple roles and with external partners. Over the year, she has supported nearly 80 referrals and played a key role in developing and strengthening local provision. Her positive attitude and persistence have been central to the success and growth of both sites.

Donna McHenry – Recruitment (Support Services)

Donna is nominated for her consistently positive attitude and the practical difference she has made beyond her core role in Recruitment. Always described as approachable, helpful and bright in her manner, she is a valued colleague who contributes to a supportive working environment. In addition to her usual responsibilities, Donna has gone out of her way to assist at MacIntyre School, including spending one day a week on-site at one point to provide additional support where it was needed most. Although this was outside her normal place of work, she adapted quickly and made a meaningful contribution to the team. Her willingness to step outside her remit, combined with her upbeat and solution-focused approach, reflects the MacIntyre's leadership values in action. Donna’s support is appreciated both for its practical impact and for the positive energy she brings to every interaction.
