We’re delighted to announce we are finalists for the Dementia Care Awards!
The Health team has MacIntyre’s full support, as they find out the results from their nominations at the finals, tonight, at the gala event in London.
The team have been nominated for the Supporting People with a Learning Disability and Dementia Award. Our approach to learning disability and dementia support, featuring the Dementia Special Interest Group and Memory Cafés, has been described as ‘unique, ground-breaking and hugely inspiring.’
However, efforts don’t stop there. As part of Dementia Action week, earlier this year, we celebrated Rosie Joustra, who works as part of the Health Team, on her monumental contribution to MacIntyre’s dementia work.
You can watch Rosie’s film here, which was made in collaboration with Dementia UK and NHS England.
Health and Families Manager, Nicola Payne, said in response to the nomination:
‘I’m delighted the team are being recognised for their work, and we’re so excited to be nominated for this award. We’re passionate about giving people the right resources, and making sure that people are receiving the right support, whatever stage they are at on the dementia pathway; I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved so far. Both the Memory Cafés and Dementia Special Interest Group are fantastic opportunities to bring people together to share their experiences, and create that community which people feel they can lean on, whether that’s family, friends, people who draw on support, or even those just curious to find out more.’
We’re so incredibly proud of our finalists, they really deserve all the credit they are due. We will have everything crossed for you tonight!
