We have some fantastic employees at MacIntyre and every month one person from each division is chosen to be our Employee of the Month.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of MacIntyre Adult Services, Children and Young People, and Specialist Support Services, together with an extract from their nominations. (There is no winner for MacIntyre No Limits™ this month as educational colleagues have been on summer holidays.)
Lynda Bayliss: Adult Services, Milton Keynes
Lynda has worked for MacIntyre since 2016 and during that time has progressed from Support Worker to Deputy Manager, a post she took up in February 2024. It's fair to say that the last 12 months have been challenging and Lynda has proved herself to be an integral part of the team, leading staff whilst continuing to be amazing with the people who draw on our support, going above and beyond to advocate for them and ensure they lead gloriously ordinary lives. Lynda has a truly flexible approach to her role.
When one of the men we support was coming to the end of his life recently, Lynda worked tirelessly to ensure his needs were met and that he could come home from hospital in a safe way to die at home in familiar surroundings, with people he knew.
I don’t think Lynda realises how much she is valued by the team, how impressed we all are by the way she has stepped up and by how she embodies MacIntyre’s DNA day in, day out by all that she does.
Rotimi Magbagbeola: Children and Young People, Buckinghamshire
Rotimi has been a true champion of Intensive Interaction. He has encouraged his colleagues to use Intensive Interaction and then not only shared but celebrated the positive outcomes. Sharing good practice is key to us continuing to do the best we can for the people we support and also for monitoring progress.
As the Intensive Interaction Facilitator and Mentor, it is joyful for me to see Rotimi so excited and he said he had seen an interaction which gave him 'goose bumps' - how special is that?!
Celebrating each other is so good for staff morale and team building and this in turn is positive for the young people we support. Very well done to Rotimi for his continued championing and promoting of Intensive Interaction, great role modelling, encouraging his colleagues and for sharing and celebrating good practice.
Fabienne Batten: Specialist Support Services
Fabienne is a remarkable employee who can turn her hand to any role. In her years with MacIntyre she has progressed and developed herself to achieve above and beyond and to support young people to do the same. She works with commitment, enthusiasm and always with the young people at the forefront. She comes to work every day with an infectious smile and encourages all the staff to find joy in what they do with her positive role modelling.
Fabienne can manage, delegate and co-ordinate. She has organised many events including after school groups, the summer fayre and most recently the MacIntyre float for the Leighton Buzzard Carnival - we won our section in the competition!
Fabienne has recently moved on from her role at our School to join MacIntyre's HR team and fulfil her ambition in that field. She is already spreading her magic in her new role and we know she will be a huge success.
