Stepping in to lead
Suzy Parsonson was nominated for Inspirational Leader award after stepping into the role at short notice due to a colleague’s illness.
The people we support in our Supported Living provision in Oxfordshire live meaningful, independent lives. Our staff support each individual to do the things they enjoy, get out and about and make choices. Our learning centre in Kennington is a hub for a variety of activities.
We support young people with learning disabilities to access further education through our partnership with Abingdon & Witney College. Many of our learners access volunteering opportunities with other local charities and organisations, including Blue Cross and SOFEA, the South Oxfordshire Food and Education Alliance.
“I love volunteering at Blue Cross and looking after the animals. My favourite animal is probably either a rabbit or a cat, which I get to look after a lot when I volunteer. I’m looking forward to volunteering more in September and hopefully getting a job there in the future.”
