The gift of Compassion

18 December 2023
News

In the next in our 12 Gifts of Christmas series, we're looking at the gift of Compassion, which we all need to give and receive.

The gift of Compassion

Every year, MacIntyre celebrates the Marjorie Newton Wright Awards, named after one of our founders. These staff awards go to individuals and teams who exemplify the values set out in MacIntyre's DNA.

In 2023, the award for Inspirational Leader in our Children and Young People's Division was won by Jennifer Marshall the Regional Lead for our Children's Homes. Her nomination picked out the way in which she treats both the children we support and our staff with compassion:

Jen dedicates her life to MacIntyre and has always gone above and beyond for the young people, making sure they are happy, safe and nothing is too much for them to achieve. She is equally effective as a manager, supporting staff and checking in with them to see how they are doing. At times when staff are going through a rough time, she is always there for them.

Congratulations to Jen and all our winners.

Here's a selection of photos from the Marjorie Newton Wright Awards.
