We're delighted to share our 'Employees of the Month' for July. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of Adult Services and Children and Young People, alongside an extract from their nominations.
Mel Shannon, MacIntyre School and Children's Homes - Children and Young People
"Mel is our superstar domestic who has had the mammoth task of keeping the school spick and span for our staff and students. She has worked tirelessly throughout a period of uncertainty, with staffing and has almost singlehandedly managed the cleaning of the whole site.
Mel comes to work every day with a 'can do' attitude and no job is too much. She will tackle anything. Things just get done; sometimes additional jobs before you have to ask! I can’t sing her praises enough and feel that she is so deserving of this award. Well Done Mel - You really are appreciated for all that you do!"
Marie Adamson, Warrington - Adult Services
"Marie has embraced the idea of a sensory garden with Tara, she has pushed on with the project with the help of Daniel, who we support and created a lovely area for him to work in and enjoy. Although the original idea came from another team member, Marie has supported Daniel in such a positive and creative way.
I really admire her embracing the project ... and Daniel loves being outside tending to his plants and veggies, and painting his pots."
Paul Ross, Bucks No Limits - Children and Young People
On a day to day basis Paul demonstrates that he works with the learners in a person centred way, going out of his way to support individuals with reaching their goals.
Paul goes above and beyond his duties to ensure that learners’ needs are being met. One example of this is supporting a learner to attend a meeting with regards to a change in their course next year on a non-working day - Paul knew that there was a staff shortage and volunteered his time to ensure that the learner was able to attend the meeting. If that doesn’t show dedication to his role, I don’t know what does!
Not only is Paul a fantastic facilitator, but Paul shares his kindness with other staff, encouraging them to take steps towards furthering their careers and being an ear to listen if they need someone.
