Employees of the Month - May

14 June 2021
News

We're delighted to share our 'Employees of the Month' for May. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.

Below are the names of the winners in the categories of Adult Services, Children and Young People and Support Services and an extract from their nominations.

Ellen Silvester, Hampshire - Adult Services

"Ellen is a very bubbly person, who is always willing to help and does everything she can to support people we support as well as her colleagues. Ellen supported Ross to have both his Covid jabs, and a blood test. Ross hadn’t had an injection or a blood test in his adult life, and he was very reluctant to have this. By creating a close bond with Ross, and presenting information to him in a way that was easy to follow and included his favourite TV characters, Ellen has encouraged Ross to have his Covid jabs and a blood test only a week after his second Covid jab. No other staff members, or outside professionals have managed to achieve this previously (blood tests have been requested previously but Ross refused them). Ellen was not on shift when the nurses came to do the vaccine, but she came in to be with Ross and reassure him when he had his vaccination."

Catherine Munene, East Midlands, No Limits – Children and Young People

"Cat has helped out so much over the past few months, going above and beyond her duties to ensure that the service runs smoothly. Cat will always offer her help when needed and has been a great support to her colleagues. Cat has a wonderful way with the learners that we support and ensures that the learners reach their full potential."

Louise Waters, MacIntyre School - Children and Young People

"For her outstanding work at school and in coordinating Duke of Edinburgh. Louise always goes above and beyond, and is always there when her team or anyone else needs her."

Kevin Billington, IT - Support Services

"In a challenging IT situation Kevin has gone over and above any expectations we could have asked and has shown a level of commitment to the organisation that is exceptional."

Each winner will receive a certificate and a payment via My Rewards.

The MacInStars Awards are now open for nominations for June – just go to https://www.macintyrecharity.org/macinstars-employee-of-the-month/ and tell us about a member of staff who deserves recognition.
