Following on from our glowing report from Ofsted for MacIntyre School recently, ('Good' News from Ofsted Inspection), we’re delighted to share that our Bedfordshire Children’s Home has been rated ‘Good’.
In the inspection, which took place 21-22 February, Ofsted stated that:
Staff provide children with a warm, loving environment. They understand the emotional and physical needs of the children [and] are innovative in meeting children’s needs and create a safe and secure environment.
The report also highlighted how positively parents spoke about the advice and resources provided. One parent said:
We know he is loved. We know that he cannot make up the affection that he has for the staff and the home.
In response to the news, Duane Anstey, Frontline Manager at Hillside, said:
We are absolutely delighted with the recognition in the report, particularly with mention to how we provide a ‘warm, loving environment’ and understanding ‘the emotional and physical needs of the children’ and how each young person’s choices and individual preferences are at the very heart of life at Hillside.
We work hard to make a difference helping young people ‘to understand how to express their feelings and emotions in a structured and reliable environment.’
By ensuring that every opportunity is one to learn from, we are very happy to know that it is having the intended impact on the lives of young people.
Well done team!
