Taking Centre stage with MacIntyre No Limits

5 June 2024
News

Meet Edan. Edan is a bright young man with a great sense of humour, and a big personality to match. Edan joined MacIntyre No Limits following a difficult time with his previous school, and whilst we noticed he had a fantastic ability to build strong relationships with staff and other learners, he wasn’t meeting his potential as he found it hard to focus and adapt his behaviour to learning environments.

As staff spent more time supporting Edan, it was clear he had a passion for performing arts, and by tapping into his interests and hobbies, MacIntyre were able to identify a suitable performing arts session that Edan could try at our partner college.

These sessions quickly became Edan’s favourite. As his confidence developed, he completed a ‘stepping stones’ qualification in performing arts, and built strong relationship with the class group.

Edan’s theatrical prowess cast him a starring role in a Christmas show where he showcased his dancing skills in front of peers, staff, and a wider audience.

Reflecting on Edan’s time with No Limits, it is clear to see how much progress he made, not just in his education but also how much his social skills and confidence have developed. After two years with MacIntyre, Edan moved over to our partner college and began working towards completing his formal education further.
