On 23 February, Jan Kendall will be taking on the Looe Ten Miler in the name of MacIntyre.
Jan, who has been a staff member at MacIntyre for over eight years, is aiming to take on the Looe Ten Miler challenge to raise funds for the new MacIntyre Memory Café in Worcester, which is due to open later this year.
Speaking about his motivation for completing the challenge, Jan said:
“Dementia has now become a very pertinent issue across the spectrum of the health and social care field, and the MacIntyre Dementia Special Interest Group work alongside MacIntyre staff to support them to do the best job they can for people with dementia. Plans are afoot to set up a Memory Café in Worcester and this what I shall be raising funds for, by running the Looe Ten Miler on February 23rd 2019.”
MacIntyre Memory Cafés offer a fun, welcoming and relaxing environment for people living with dementia, those caring for someone that is, or anyone in the community to take part in social activities, make new friends and enjoy fantastic cake and cups of tea and coffee.
