Over 40,000 people will be taking to the streets of London on Sunday 28 April to take part in the iconic London Marathon; including a number of runners raising money for MacIntyre.
Joining 'Team MacIntyre' for the 39th London Marathon will be Lydia Baines, who works for Puratos UK.
Speaking about her motivations for taking on the marathon, Lydia said:
"Ten years ago, approaching a milestone birthday I ran the London Marathon. It was one of the best and most exhausting things I have ever done. With another milestone birthday approaching, I thought why not do it again? So I approached MacIntyre and asked if I could run for them. My goal is to beat my previous time."
She added:
"I have worked with MacIntyre for many years as part of my job on the CSR team at Puratos UK, undergoing a number of challenges. These include 'The 3 peaks challenge', 'Dragon Boat Racing' at the Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival and a cycle ride from Buckingham to Brussels. Admittedly I drove the van and was nowhere near a bike!"
Lydia's relationship with MacIntyre is always growing.
"My journey with MacIntyre isn't limited to fundraising. I have also helped to create a sensory garden, ran a cookery class and helped with gardening. I really wanted something that would be challenging and something that I could do to raise money."
"I really cannot express enough how great MacIntyre is. The people, the facilities and all the work they do to benefit the lives of so many people. So I ask you to please donate generously to this cause!"
