Making Safeguarding Personal is embedded in the Care Act 2014. It’s about making sure that safeguarding services are person-led and outcomes focused. This means that adults at risk should be involved as far as possible in all decision making about their safety and their lives.
Not everyone can verbally tell us when something is wrong, but this does not mean they do not have a voice, opinion or right to raise a concern or safeguarding.
At MacIntyre, we strive to empower the people that draw upon our support to speak out when something is not right. We believe we should be led the person and the outcomes they desire.
By making safeguarding personal, you can assist a person that draws upon our support to raise a concern, with understanding around their rights and confidence their wishes are taken into account.
