Getting to know our neighbours and growing those relationships is really important to us in Aylesbury. It’s about taking the opportunities to connect in little ways.
After Christmas last year we wanted to support Alyssa and Maddie, who live here, to keep in touch after sharing Christmas cards with their neighbours. They love flowers and bright colours and we had the idea to give some sunflower seeds in a little packet they decorated.
Last week one of our lovely neighbours stopped us to say that the thriving bunch of sunflowers in their garden are from the seeds that the ladies gave them! He was very proud and wanted to share how grateful he was. We thanked him for the update, and remembered to get his name and properly introduce ourselves so now we can keep that friendship going.
