The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023

2 September 2023
News

This year, we are again taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign, raising vital funds for the MacIntyre Dancers.

The MacIntyre Dancers are a group of 11 people with a learning disability who have become qualified Dance Leaders. Supported by Dance Artists, the group have big plans to offer dance lessons to those who also experience barriers to participate, and to attend events nationally to showcase their talents and passion.

Where will your funds go?

Funds raised through The Big Give Challenge will contribute to the MacIntyre Dancers delivering weekly dance classes and performing at showcase events. The Dancers intend to break down barriers, empower people and contribute towards more inclusive communities.

Making a Pledge?

As part of our application, we need to secure £2,000 in promises of funding, called ‘Pledges’, which will be used as match funds to double online donations made during the Christmas campaign.

Could you consider making a pledge to help us reach our target? The minimum individual Pledge amount is £100.

If you’re able to support us this year, you can do so by completing this online form by the deadline of 17:00 on Friday 8 September 2023. The form is very short and just requests your contact information and pledge amount. Please do contact us at fund@macintryecharity.org if you require any support with this.

What is the Big Give Christmas Challenge?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge helps UK-registered charities to raise funds for their projects by doubling donations when the campaign goes live on 28 November 2023.

How does it work?

  • The matching pots used to double donations for charities taking part in the Christmas Challenge are made up of a combination of funds. These are funds sourced by the ‘Pledges’ and funds sourced by the Big Give ‘Champions’ which are available if we are successfully selected by a Champion.
  • The timeline for fulfilling the pledge (ie transferring the funds to MacIntyre) is 5 December 2023 – 12 January 2024.
  • Fulfilment of your pledge is conditional on us receiving the appropriate online donations during the campaign (28 November – 5 December). You will only be required to pay a pro-rata amount of your pledge if we don’t achieve our online target - it's our guarantee to you that we are committed to raising additional donations.

We'd love your support

If you are able, we’d love your support with a Pledge.
