What is a Memory Café?

16 August 2019
News

You may have heard that we are holding several one-mile events this year, known as Memories and Miles to celebrate loved ones with dementia and raise money for our growing number of Memory Cafés across the country. So...what exactly is a MacIntyre Memory Café?

Support

Whilst several people we support enjoy attending our Memory Cafés, we also welcome people from the local community who may have been affected by dementia and others who simply want to come along to enjoy the company.

Our cafés offer an opportunity to get to know others who may be in a similar situation, whilst providing a comforting and welcoming environment.

Fun

Our Memory Cafés also offer the opportunity to take part in exciting activities and see exclusive performances from local groups. At previous cafés, we have had appearances from local choirs, animal therapy, arts and craft sessions and much more.

Flexible

With our MacIntyre Memory Cafés, there's no need to book your place you can simply turn up on the day.

Upcoming Memory Cafés

  • 27 August - Milton Keyes Memory Café (featuring a special 'Animal Ark' event)
  • 30 August - Warrington Memory Café
  • 30 August - Chesterfield Memory Café
  • 3 September - Bedfordshire Memory Café
