Ampthill Lifelong Learning Centre

At our Lifelong Learning Centre in Ampthill we offer numerous opportunities for the people we support to gain independence, learn new skills and take part in activities that suit their interests.

Throughout the week, activities and sessions include:

  • Volunteering with a local school and assisting with farming activities
  • Exploring health eating and different cuisines in the cooking group
  • Taking part in various sporting activities, including horse riding, musical movement and competing in the yearly Bedfordshire Games
  • Money management, which looks at budgeting and comparing the cost of different items
  • Arts and crafts, using different techniques to create individual or group pieces
  • Sensory activities including using the Centre’s sensory room and using textures to create different pieces of work
  • A ‘learning through fun’ group which integrates Maths and English learning into different national events, such as the British Grand Prix and St George’s Day
  • Investigating the countryside, which involves visiting various nature reserves, forests and walks.
