A classic performance: Rosie’s ‘I dreamed a dream’.

21 June 2022
News

The benefits of music are widely appreciated today. Music truly accompanies us in our daily activities and is with us during the various stages of our lives as a way of connecting with each other or simply as an outlet of expression. Someone who appreciates the impact of music is Rosie. As an avid fan of classical music and multiple instruments, Rosie has showcased her amazing talent whether it be playing the Piano or the Clarinet. Most recently, Rosie took inspiration from the theatre classic ‘Les Misérables’ and performed a wonderful rendition of ‘I dreamed a dream’.

Captivated by the performance, Rosie’s support worker, Nicole said:

“Rosie has a big love of music - piano being her main instrument but she is also a keen clarinettist and plays the accordion. I supported Rosie that evening and saw that she had a Les Misérables book by the piano and asked if she’d like to play. Rosie played the piece beautifully and she was very chuffed with herself afterwards and a little emotional as it’s something she had been working so hard on.”

An encore performance is currently being planned with Nicole playing the Flute alongside Rosie playing the Clarinet. A duet we are all looking forward to.

In the meantime, please enjoy Rosie performing ‘I dreamed a dream’ below:
